![]() Maybe they aren't perfect, but they've caused me no trouble (I use a quad-boot setup to have access to as many OS as possible for support purposes). I went back a few models until I found one that did offer XP drivers and discovered that the hardware was the same (or close). I have an HP Pavilion (HP Pavilion dv7t-7000 CTO Quad Edition Entertainment Notebook PC) and had same problem finding Vista drivers. The laptop is an HP Pavilion dv9600 (dv9605ea) running Windows XP SP3. I am also missing the "OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller" and "Video Controller (VGA Compatible)". My Device Manager says the missing drivers are for "Ethernet Controller" and "Network Controller". It also tells me that the drivers are also needed for "AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-64." My software says the missing drivers are called "NVidia nForce Networking Controller" and "NVidia nForce PCI System Management." ![]() The key missing driver is the Network driver. I think that I will be OK once I can connect to the internet because I can than use one of the Driver Managers to automatically find and download all the drivers I need. I have managed to replace most of the drivers, but I am missing a few key ones. My HP laptop came with Vista loaded, but I have had to remove Vista and replace it with Windows XP.
